We are just a few days away from the launch of the new session of our Summer Academy which will start on June 26 in Egypt and Algeria and on June 27 in Tunisia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Nigeria. Just like each year since the launch of GOMYCODE, our students will be enjoying a rich learning, hands-on and fun-filled program.

What is the Summer Academy?

After five successful editions, the Summer Academy returns this summer to GOMYCODE for its sixth year on June 27 in our hackerspaces in Tunisia (Beja, Nabeul, Gabes, Gafsa, Lake 1, downtown and Menzah V). Moreover, the Summer Academy will be launched simultaneously in all our hackerspaces in the different countries where GOMYCODE is active: Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, and Egypt.

The Summer Academy is a 4-week intensive, project-based summer program, launched in several sessions. It is primarily targeted at high school and college students as well as professionals who need to improve their skills, and who may not have the time during the year to attend such courses. The program offers a variety of different courses depending on your needs: training in Web Development, video game development, Data Science, design, Digital Marketing or even a specific training for children, the Kids program.

Who can attend the Summer Academy?

Summer Academy is for high school and college students who are passionate about digital skills and want to take advantage of their summer to learn about new technologies. This program is also designed for professionals who need to improve their skills. This intensive 4-week training program has been developed to allow those who do not have the opportunity to attend our courses during the year to do so, mainly due to a busy schedule.

What training can you take?

There are six training programs available for this Summer Academy in our different schools:

Web development:

You will learn how to create your own website and put it online using multiple technologies such as CSS, JS, Express, HTML, Node js, React, Redux or even Bootstrap. The web development training is divided into 3 levels which will be oriented on the fundamentals of web development, advanced concepts in front-end and back-end.

Video Game Development:

You will learn the basics of video game development with Unity and C# that allow students to develop a mobile game. This course also has 3 levels where you can learn how to create 2D and 3D video games.

Data:

You will learn how to build your own artificial intelligence and master Python.

In this course, divided into 2 levels, you will learn the basics of artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms as well as data visualization, interpretation, and preparation techniques. This allows you to create your own predictive analysis model and artificial intelligence with Python and its libraries.

Design:

You will learn about UX design, perform a good UX design study and create your first user interface. This will give you the knowledge and tools to understand the different principles of user experience design. You will learn how to perform a good UX study, how to use the different types of processes in order to conceptualize a final product from a user-centric point of view.

Digital marketing:

In this track, you will master the tools and skills needed to start a career in digital marketing. You will learn how to manage your social networks, launch advertising campaigns, optimize SEO and conversion rates and use Google Analytics...

Kids Program:

This program is specifically designed for kids. You will create your video game with Scratch and your Android application with App Inventor. The "Kids" program is exclusively created for children who are passionate about computers, new technologies or robotics. It is designed to allow children to acquire the skills necessary to create their technological application while having fun and interacting with the members of their group.

Our learning method

Our students have access to an online course platform. They can take the courses on this platform and submit all the mini-projects of a module in order to move on to the next module.

They are personally assisted by our instructors, who help them in case of difficulties and guide them through the learning process.

Each instructor has a limited number of students for customized support. Their job is not to give the students information, but to help them find out where to look for information and how to use it. It is a learning method based on self-learning and active learning.

Create your own technology

The GOMYCODE learning experience is unique. Over the course of 4 weeks, you will develop technical programming skills as well as communication, collaborative work and critical thinking skills by joining a community of enthusiasts like yourself.

But more importantly, by the end of the program, you will have fully developed your own technology product. It's not just about learning a few lines of code, it's about completing an entire project and being proud of it. Even better, you will have the opportunity to showcase your product during the Demo Day.

During Demo Day, students, proud of their projects, display their work to our jury and visitors in the form of a "Science Fair". Needless to say, there will be music, dancing and games while waiting for the jury to announce the winning projects, hand out the certificates and take several pictures as souvenirs.
